X-Box360 vs. PS3

Nowadays it seems as though every second person is interested in buying a gaming console, so it’s hardly surprising that so many people want to know which console is better. Is it the PlayStation3, or is it the X-Box360? To be honest, you can’t really go according to face value only, but instead, you need to weigh up the various pros and cons such as how each console differs in terms of its features and qualities. For example, both these consoles make use of the very latest technology, and even the audio and graphics are extremely comparable on paper, but in reality, you’ll probably find that the X-Box360 tends to be superior in terms of performance and reliability.

Admittedly, there are a few games which you’ll find for the PlayStation 3 which simply aren’t available for the X-Box360, but in general the X-Box360 offers more in terms of variety as far as games are concerned. Likewise, there are many titles out there which are available for both platforms, and it’s worthwhile noting that the games are similar in price. Other similarities include things such as the ability to play DVDs, but the new PlayStation 3 also has Blue Ray. It also seems to be a better choice in terms of being able to play older games that came out at the same time as the previous PlayStation consoles.

On the downside, even with Blue Ray, PlayStation has always encountered problems when it comes to playing movies, and as such, if you really must have a Blue Ray player, then you should simply go out and buy one. Of course this by no means suggests that the PlayStation 3 is an inferior gaming console, but instead, it just means that many people seem to have switched over to the X-Box360 simply because they don’t require all the extra bells and whistles.

If you really need to examine more detailed product descriptions then you should ideally review them online and then decide which one is best for you. This will also allow you to determine what new products maybe lined up for each console. When one considers that new consoles are being designed continuously is hardly surprising that the vast majority of gamers tend to find making a choice difficult.

One of the main things to bear in mind if you’re considering a PS3, is that it has a built in Linux computer which of course makes it easy for you to go online by means of you using your TV and your phone line. In that respect, it’s cheaper to buy a PlayStation 3, rather than forking out a pile of money on the various components. On the other hand, if you simply want a top class gaming console with a ton of games to keep you amused, and you want it all for a reasonable price, then you should seriously consider the X-Box360. If you do, then of course you should ideally choose the deluxe package which includes an extra 60 GB of memory, rather than buying the basic or arcade edition.

Of course only you can decide which platform to buy, but no matter which one you choose, don’t forget to compare the prices before you buy. Also make sure that you know where you stand in terms of warranties and guarantees. You should also determine whether or not you’ll be responsible for shipping and handling charges. Having said that; many retail outlets do of course have websites, and if you can find your console of choice online, then it is possible to have it shipped directly to the store, which of course means that you then won’t need to worry about any shipping charges. Above all, if you follow this route, you’ll also have the advantage in that it is easy for you to contact a company representative should anything go wrong further down the line, rather than spending hours on the phone trying to explain the problem. Also, if something does go wrong, it will be a lot easier for you to return the console, considering you won’t need to ship it anywhere.
