The most awaited event in South County is the annual celebration of their Pine Hill Festival. For this year the festival will be held on April 4, 2009 starting 8:00 A.M to 6:00 P.M. The festival organizers, Stone County Economic Development Partnership have added and improved activities to make sure the public will enjoy the festival.

The 5k and 10k Run and 1 mile Run/Walk will start 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. respectively. The Blaylock Park will be the starting point for both activities. There is an entry fee of $15.00 when paid before hand. A $20.00 entry fee will be charged when paid on the day of the event. Free t-shirts will be given to all participants and a ribbon will be given to children below 12 years old. A grand prize medal will be given to all winners from all categories. While the first and second runner up gets a medal.

At about 9:00 A.M. the Pine Hill Festival Talent Show will start and will be held at the Blaylock Park stage. Children ages 15 and below are invited to join the talent show to showcase their talents. The entry fee will be $20.00 must be submitted with the application by March 27 at 5:00 P.M.. The show will allow solo, duo and trio participants only. There will be cash prizes awarded to all winners from each division.

The Stone County Idol encourages ordinary folks to join and showcase their talents. The show will help make a singing superstar out of the best contestant among the group. There are three judges to make a critique after each performance to help the audience to make their choice. Based on the votes the audience made the Stone County Idol will be announced.
