Tallit means covering or cloak. This Aramaic word is referred by the Romans as a prayer shawl or toga which worn in Talmudic times. Today, Catholic church senior priests wear during and after the mass celebrations.

It is also a common practice of some Jewish communities to give such piece of clothing to the groom as the bride’s father’s wedding present. Not only on such occasion, this is likewise considered a valuable gift of parents to the thirteen year old offspring and schoolteachers to their students.

This shawl is highly obtainable all across the U. S. Individuals who want this do not need to look far for it. This is pretty easier to get if there are special occasions. As a rule, it is worn more by men compared with women.

In Jewish wedding ceremonies, the garment is used as the wedding canopy. Traditionally, this is draped on people’s shoulders as the ceremonies progress. When praying, however, it is typically used to cover people’s heads.

It was in 1800 BCE when this began to become famous in ancient Jewish communities. Its design back then was way too different from its look today. It was a simple enormous white rectangular piece before.

tallit katan might be considered simply as a traditional clothing worn by Jewish people, but this is more than just history and modesty. This is valuable not just to the Jews, but also to other religious denominations. And Roman Catholic is an example.
