Hollywood producers spend big bucks keeping us entertained with new movies each year. There is no limit to what they will spend if the return is going to result in large numbers of ticket sales. It cost far more these days to create a special effects blockbuster hit than it did 10 years ago.
It cost movies producers tens of millions to produce a blockbuster hit. Once a new movie takes off in a big way, Hollywood makes it up in ticket sales. In the past, some new films t hit the theaters have generated over one hundred million dollars for the producers. It is a big industry with a lot of money to be made when all the pieces come together.
Screenings of movies are another way Hollywood prepares the public. During these screenings, a select group of media personnel are invited to watch the first preview of the movie. As a result, tons of media reviews are released in broadcast media around the world increasing the excitement for the general release to the public. This type of buzz marketing is very effective at driving ticket sales.
Producers know that a movie will either be a smash hit or a dismal failure during the first week it is released in theaters. As a way of boosting ticket sales, they will often do pre-screenings of new releases so media personal can get a preview of the movie. They do this in hopes of getting favorable television reviews and newspaper write-ups all across the country.
There are plenty of ways that Hollywood makes money. Aside from releasing new movies each summer and fall, they also, enjoy handsome profits for the sales of DVD rentals and purchases. This makes up for a big portion of their annual revenues as older classics are transformed into DVD and Blu-Ray discs.
Interestingly, movies that were once viewed as no longer capable of holding a person’s interest such as Japanese made King Kong and Godzilla movies have had new life breathed into them with modern special effects. We love movies such as the classic Jurassic Park series that take us beyond the boundaries of human imagination and will often spend money on them.
Today, marvel comic book classics seem to b find a prominent place on the big screen. Lately, Hollywood has invested a considerable amount of money into these new releases.
During the past ten years Hollywood has created a new kind of fictional movie taken from the pages of Marvel Comic books. Batman, Superman, and Cat Woman are all examples of how special effects have made it possible to bring anything to life on the big screen. If it can be imagined, then they will find a way to bring it to life in a new and entertaining way.
