Just last summer I was lucky enough to travel to New York City a few times. I had a friend who was working for an airline and, on occasion, offered a free flight to the city. I felt it was my duty as a true friend to accept his kind offer. Sometimes we’d head to New York for a single day, and sometimes we could stay for the weekend.

Shopping there was a lot of fun. There are so many more stores to visit than what I have in my own town. Sometimes we would even dare ourselves to find the most random restaurant and order the most disgusting thing on the menu, just to experience something new. Then there was the nightlife. There are so many clubs and bars in New York that it really is like nowhere else in the world.

One night, though, we spotted a huge line outside a hotel. Curious, we asked someone in line what they were waiting for and they told us about the rooftop bar on top of the hotel. We hadn’t ever tried something like that before, so we quickly got in line.

Once we got inside we went straight to the balcony and stood there in awe of the incredible view. The Empire State Building was just to the north of us, the centerpiece of a gorgeous skyline. I couldn’t believe we were really there. It was easily going to be a very memorable night.

When you visit New York there are a lot of bars you could try out, but this rooftop bar was easily one of the best ones I had experienced. Between the atmosphere and the beautiful skyline this was a great evening that will be hard to replicate.

After that we tried out a few other rooftop bars, but none of them quite delivered the same experience we had at the first one. I really wish I would have taken more pictures. The club’s website has a photo gallery, of course, but no pictures can ever do it justice.

Putting a bar on top of a building right in the heart of New York City was an incredible idea. The entire place was really nice. The place was clearly a hotspot, and everyone was dressed really nice. And then there were all the ladies that were completely gorgeous!

I’ll never forget that trip to New York. It was only a shame that my friend wound up losing his free flight privileges, because that means I’ll have to start saving my money if I want to make it back to that incredible rooftop bar.
