« The Action Film Knight & Day Consider The Samsung UE32B7000 »
There are a few films that come out every single year that are just too good not to see. While 2010 might have been littered with these films, one of the films that many people were talking about was the action picture “Legion”.
There are all kinds of different things that you might care to know about this particular film, and through reading this article you are going to get a good impression as to just what they are. You are going to get introduced to a few of the names that make this film remarkable and some of the key plot points that you might care to understand before actually watching the flick.
You should be relieved, though, that this particular synopsis will not give you spoilers to the story. With that being said, if you have not seen the film and wanted to learn just a little more about it, you should read entirely through this article. This will not spoil some of the bigger factors of the film for you.
The film opens on a couple of friends, Jeep and Charlie, who are sharing a moment on a rickety swing set around their mobile home. Charlie is pregnant, and Jeep is trying to tell her that he could provide security for her and the baby. He wants to be there for her, but she does not seem to be very receptive to the idea of him providing anything for her.
There are some tussles, as you meet the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany) who is a fallen angel who has taken it upon himself to defend the human race against extinction. You learn that God is not pleased with those on Earth, and much like the biblical flood, has decided that the time has come to start all over again. Instead of the flood, he is sending leagues of angels to eradicate mankind.
The audience also learns that the entire fate of mankind rests within the child that was meant to die but lived. That child is the one that is growing inside of Charlie. It doesn’t take long for the end of the world to come knocking on the door of Jeep’s father’s (Dennis Quaid) business. The angels have come to kill them all to get to Charlie’s baby. If that baby dies, so does the world.
A hope lies with Michael who has risked everything to save the people that he loves. He witnessed the creation of the world and claims to love its inhabitants as much as God himself. He cannot sit idly by and watch God destroy everything that he holds dear. So even if it costs him his place in Heaven, he will defend the Earth to the end. So the inhabitants that are pent up in the store begin to succumb to the leagues of the attackers one by one, but Michael will have a showdown with a former protege that will likely be the battle for the world itself.
“Legion” is quite an exceptional film. It ties in concepts that have rarely been touched upon and a visual masterpiece on the screen. While there are certainly other things to know and appreciate about this film, this should be a great place to get you started if you had just wanted to get a little more information.
