The oldest and largest Celtic Fair is schedule for a craft show on March. The Sonora Celtic Fair will have their 23rd annual fair. On March 13th, 14th and 15th at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds, Sorona CA

The Sonora Celtic event organizers have made efforts that you will enjoy this community affair. There will be Knights Jousting on Horseback, Fencing, Modern Clans, Celtic Living History, Vendors, Longbow Archery, Food and Drink, Mary Queen of Scot’s Royal Court, Jugglers, Fire Eaters, Story Tellers and Dancers and Irish Step Dance.

In all the years that Sonora has been holding a Celtic Fair there were some of the biggest names in Celtic music may it be local or national bands. For this year Need Fire and Banshee in the Kitchen will be heading the show.

When you visit the Sorona Celtic Fair you are assured that they will be performers to entertain you. performers like mystifying magicians, jumping jugglers and beautiful belly dancers will be there to entertain you. The flame eaters are the most awaited performers there.

While listening to the Celtic Music of our local and national bands, you night be interested in learning how to play like them. Vendors sell musical piece and instruments that will help you learn to play like the big named musicians. The vendors also sell jewelry, mens and womens clothing, swords and armor.

In the field area there will be reenactment of battles done years before; there will be cannon firing and men battling. But if watching the harsh battles makes you sick, you can have another option. There are also reenactments of how households were run hundreds of years before.

You can meet modern families that will talk about their family history. There is even a whiskey tasting, there will be ten types of whiskey that you can taste and judge from. This then will be tallied and a winner will be declared the best tasting whiskey.
