Chances are, there are a lot more people interested in seeing this movie. With things like bloodshed, dark comedy, cheerleaders, horror, and of course, a rock band, this movie seems to have it all. The movie, Jennifer’s Body, was produced by Jason Reitman and Dan Dubiecki. Diablo Cody wrote the screenplay. It is directed by Karyn Kusama, of “Girlfight” fame. A 1994 song, with the same title, was done by a band called Hole, which is somewhat gruesome in itself. The plot revolves around a geeky girl in high school named Anita (Amanda Seyfried). Her best friend is the exceptionally beautiful Jennifer (Megan Fox).

Of course, being a cheerleader, Jennifer is the toast of the school and endlessly fawned over by the “wannabes” and chased by the boys. A rock band (Adam Brody’s emo charater, Nickolai)involves Jennifer as part of a Satanic ritual and sacrifice being performed by the band members in the hope it will get them the recording contract they all want. Something goes horribly wrong and Jennifer is possessed by a demon who sends her off on a killing rampage to devour the souls of her male school pals. The way the demon uses Jennifer’s body is, not surprisingly, to seduce the boys one at a time and draining off their sexual life force, killing them in the process.

Eventually, Anita tried to stop Jennifer’s rampage through the school and save the male students.

The film was suppose to begin shooting in 2007, but like many other productions, it was put on hold until March, 2008, due to the Writers Guild of America’s strike. Shooting was done in Burnaby British Colombia. There are a number of scenes that were filmed near Cariboo Hill Secondary School, at Robert Burnaby Park. A number of Vancouver locations were also utilized. Music by such artists as Dashboard Confessional, Panic at the Disco, Hayley Williams, Cobra Starship, and All Time Low can be heard on the soundtrack.
