When fans learned there was going to be a second season because the Hoffman crew had now liquidated all of their assets and acquired every loan possible, the enthusiasm for Discovery Channel “Gold Rush” among the tens of millions of fans was almost tangible. It seemed the crew was back in action and ready to execute a new plan based on what they had learned from their mistakes. However, their former and unwanted coworker, Dakota Fred, suddenly threw an unexpected wrench in the Hoffman’s plan of mining their beloved Glory Hole.

Todd, with his American spirit burning strong and bright, looked at this setback as just another important part of their trials and tribulations inevitable in such an ambitious journey to strike it rich. The novice, yet strong-willed, gold miner demonstrated his leadership once again as he landed his crew in the Canadian gold-streaked lands known as the Klondike. With the progression of the second season of Gold Rush Alaska on Discovery, it appears the luck of the Hoffman crew has finally turned around for the better.
