I was one of those people who was enthusiastically looking for this player after its notification, and quickly acquired one of the Blu Ray HD Players as soon as it was available. It is a glorious HD player, with fast load times and super sharp video properties.

Finally when May arrived, Samsung ultimately came out with the promised firmware 1.3 update for their Blu Ray HD Players. In addition to decoding multi-channel TrueHD, the BD-UP5000 can now bit stream every codec to an HDMI 1.3 capable receiver. Additionally, this model is now Blu-ray Profile 1.1.

Due to the newest firmware up-grade on the Blu Ray HD Players, those immediate comments about the unit’s audio constraints have been cleared up. Nearly overnite, the BD-UP5000 has gone from defective player, to one of the best Blu Ray HD Players on the market. It always had a lovely picture, for both Blu Ray and HD DVD, but now handles the newest audio codecs to.

Out of all the Blu Ray HD Players, this player is now almost faultless! The HQV Reon provides a wonderful experience from your earlier DVD stack, and the unit supports Blu-ray and HD-DVD material at its local 1080p 24fps with advanced audio. With these advanced features it just can not get any finer than that!

The ticket on Blu Ray HD Players was around $800 back in 2008, which was a suitable price if you did not want to restrict your home movie purchases to one side of the home movie war. When HD-DVD lost the war, the Blu Ray HD Players price dropped significantly and became competitively positioned even against basic Blu-ray units. However, the price might be coming back up since the audio issues are fixed.

If you’re just entering the HD movie market, these units are a wonderful choice. If you already have an HD-DVD movie libary, then Blu Ray HD Players is a must-have!
