« A Good Digital Camera Guide Can Be Invaluable Best 5 Xbox 360 Games »
My first digital SLR camera was a Digital Rebel, bought in 2003. A top SLR camera will change the quality of your photos. I bought that camera five years ago and in this period of time I took around 25,000 photos, though not all with the same camera. My second camera was another great digital camera, a Canon 30D. When they announced the 40D model, I thought I should wait a bit more, until the 50D will be launched, but I still wanted a second camera until then. That camera was the Xsi/450D.
I received the camera a few days ago and I’ve been using it ever since. I took around 650 photos until now, in all kinds of conditions, both with third party and Canon lenses.
Like a preview from Popular Photography read, this camera is the mixture of a SLR with a tank. It’s very strong and firmly built, and I must admit that I did get the impression that some Canon and Nikon devices were a bit flimsy.
Even though some people consider that AA batteries are a downside, I believe this is an advantage. And good 2500mh AA batteries are very cheap and you can find them at every store around, so you don’t have to worry about running out of juice.
The model supports any Pentax lens that was ever made. In-body stabilization - it’s a very neat feature. It translates to the lenses you buy and not once did it save my shots.
I prefer the way that the Rebel has the status screen. The screen at the back allows you to see all the settings in just one look. Also, the viewfinder is brighter and bigger than the Digital Rebel one.
The burst rate is of 4 RAWs or JPEG, but it’s ok for the moment. When I’ll have a memory card with a lot of memory I’ll see if it’s an inconvenience for me. I find the grip and handling very comfortable. Also the menu is pretty clear and easy to understand. The manual is huge and explains everything you need to know about the device’s features.
Two of the features that you can find in digital SLR cameras that are more expensive and not in the Digital Rebel are compensation for flash exposure and spot metering. However, the Xsi has those features and that makes it a great tool for any photographer. You can also use a timer function, that takes up to 10 seconds, after which it takes as many photos as you need.
