« The Samsung UE55B7000 - A First Review How I Met Your Mother Vs. Friends : A Look At Which Of The Sitcoms Is Best »
Spending time on family nights out can get expensive. For the average family with four people it could cost in the range of seventy five dollars for four movie tickets and snacks. To have more fun and save a lot of money have a home movie night. The blu-ray dvd has amazing pictures and sound. It will be the same or better than sitting in a theater, not to mention the quality time spent with family.
Children can get involved with the adventure by having them make movie tickets from construction paper and colored pencils. Let them decorate each ticket and ’sell’ to each person coming to the movie. When movie time arrives the children can collect the ticket from its holder before they enter the video viewing room.
Instead of microwave popcorn, let the kids help with making old fashioned popcorn. Using paper lunch sacks, fill a bag for each person that will be in attendance. Providing other snacks as well, and drinks in cups with an attached straw will give the effect of being at a theater.
Have a different family member pick the movie each week. For convenience the online movie clubs and stores make it simple to order, and videos are delivered in the mail. Or for alone time with the child whose turn it is to pick the movie, take them to a video store to pick out this weeks showing.
Many department stores have older movies that can be purchased for a few dollars. Allowing each child to pick a movie for purchase each week will give them their own movie library to pick from after a few weeks. Do not forget to get the 3D glasses if a movie is picked that requires them. It is always a good time when the children get to see parents wearing the funny glasses.
Each movie night should be scheduled to start a specific time. Dim the lights in the area you will be watching the video and let the kids ‘usher’ in the guests with mini flashlights. Letting the children become an usher or a ‘concession’ stand worker gives them a sense of being the boss for the day and it is great for teaching responsibility.
After the ending has taken place a fun thing to do is have the older children give a review of the blu-ray dvd they watched. Perhaps it could be included in a small family newsletter along with what will be shown next week.
Look into the advantages of having a blu-ray dvd player. With the clear picture that you get and many other features you can not find in other players. Look for your blu ray dvd online today.
